A Different Studio for a new day

How we're adjusting to these times...

Who knew at the start of 2020 that life would take us on such sharp twists and turns. We opened our studio on February first and closed it the second week of March.  During this time, my father passed away and so much instability had dominated my world.  So many lessons learned and hundreds of hours spent in meditation, chanting and communion with divine spirit has lead me to rediscover our yoga relationship and create this studio my way.  (not the way I think everyone wants it to be)

Here's how it looks...

Offering based pricing for classes:  Pay what you can. There will be a cash jar in each class you can place your offering in.  Or you may pay via venmo or paypal.  We practice the concept of Ishvara Prandhana which is surrender and devotion to our practice and fear of not having enough.

Appointment only classes:  I'm no longer accepting walk-ins.  We have a certain number of spaces available.  If you schedule and don't show there is no penalty, however, you would have taken a space someone else could have filled.  An important concept in yoga is called asteya which means non-stealing.  This means being responsible for our actions and our energy and it's impact on others.

Cleanliness: In responsibility for ourselves and others we ask that you do the following...

  • Bring your own mat and props.
  • Use the hand sanitizer when you enter the space and when you leave.
  • Do not come to class if you have a fever or show any symptoms of illness.  If you've already scheduled your appointment for class just text Tamara at (951) 356-6897 to let her know so she doesn't expect you.
  • We will sanitize the space between each class.

The concept of cleanliness is called saucha from the 8 limbs of yoga teachings.

Mindfulness: Although we will not typically be wearing masks during class due to our pranayama breath practices, if you feel like you need to wear one, feel free to do so.  Practicing the concept of ahimsa we believe in non-harming, non-violent behavior.  We accept you in whatever way you show up and love you.   Wear your mask, don't wear your mask.  It's all ok.

For now the mats need to be spaced 6 feet apart.  Please be mindful of your neighbors and give them the space you both need.

More Time:  Because we share with the jiu jitsu studio we sometimes have times that are not the most convenient.  For now, this is our situation.  However I'm extending most classes to 75 minutes so that we have time to explore our practice more deeply.  With this we practice aparagraha as we release our attachment to classes needing to be at one time or another, we allow the flow to allow the practice and opportunity to meet in divine timing and perfection.

I appreciate you and send you love and kindness.  We hope you appreciate what we are creating here and that you will be part of My Yoga Ohana.  ~Tamara
